FAQ: Why won't my CSV records upload?
There are two main reasons why a CSV would not be uploaded:
1. Incorrect File Type
The file type for CSV formatting MUST be CSV (Comma-delimited). This can be found by opening the file in excel and selecting"save-as" and choosing CSV (Comma delimited/separated). If the file type is incorrect, the following error message will be displayed.
This error will also be displayed if the number of fields mapped in the system does not match the number of fields in the CSV.
Also, this error will be displayed if there are invalid characters in the data such as commas.
2. Error in Field Matching
Once data has been uploaded, invalid data is shown by clicking on the "Invalid Data" option in the top right hand corner
The reason for the data being invalid is shown on the left hand side. The following reason codes will appear:
- Master Data:
a) Owner user name does not exist
b) Value in field with dropdown selection does not exist (i.e. Lead Source or Account Profile). Please check correctvalues in the CUSTOMIZE DROPDOWN option in the CUSTOMIZATION menu of the ADMIN TAB
- Invalid Data:
a) Numeric data in a non-numeric field
b) Non-numeric data in a numeric field
c) Spaces in a field that does not allow spaces
3. Duplication in Record Entry
The upload will duplicate check against e-mail address, mobile number and company name. If a duplicate is found, it will reject the record and display "Record already exists".
